![]() All told, like many Surface Pro models before it, the Intel-based Microsoft Surface Pro 9 thoroughly impresses and takes home a well-deserved Editors' Choice award among high-end Windows tablets. Competition comes mainly from Dell’s XPS 13 2-in-1, but it’s not much cheaper and can’t compete with the Surface’s battery life. Microsoft's official accessories can also be expensive, but occasional promotions can considerably knock down prices. The Surface Pro 9’s $999 starting price puts it far out of the budget territory, especially once you add storage and RAM upgrades (much less an arguably necessary keyboard cover).
